I hope that all of you guys had a GREAT break! As we start school tomorrow a few reminders....

• We have practice after school tomorrow until 5:00pm. Practice will be at ZEJH (hopefully the gym will be available. If not, we will do the best we can.) Bring your flag.
  

• If you owe doughnut money that is due ASAP. Please put it in an envelope with your name on it.

• We are hosting a Dance Camp on December 18th and 19th at THS. It is open to all Elementary age students K-6. (They do not have to attend school in the Talladega School System.) Information has been given at their local elementary schools, however, invite anyone you think might be interested. Registration is THIS FRIDAY! December 4, 2009 at the THS bandroom from 4:00-6:00pm. More information can be optained by calling Ms. Todd at 315-5706 or via email at THSdancecamp@hotmail.com. Registration fee is $25.00; includes instruction, t-shirt and participation in the Talladega Christmas Parade.

• As part of the dance camp all Ellis Emeralds will be performing in the Talladega Christmas Parade with the participants from the Dance Camp. The parade is on December 19th @ 5:00pm. We will meet in the parking lot of the Old Goody's. The parade will go around the square and end at Piggly Wiggly. (More info will be given later.)

Practice on Thursday, December 3, 2009 following sectionals in the THS lunchroom. (We will go to the gym if it is available.) 4:15-5:30pm

Please be sure to bring your pink Dega Addition shirt. We need to take a pic.

Also, if you owe money from the Doughnut fundraiser. Please put it in the Red lock box outside the band office. Be sure to put your name and label it Doughnut Fundraiser.

Don't forget that we will also host a Dance Camp on December 18th and 19th for Elementary school students grades K-6. Registration is THIS FRIDAY, December 4, 2009 at the THS bandroom from 4:00-6:00pm. INVITE people that you know would like to participate. We put handouts and posters in the Elementary schools, however, your help is what will get girls there. Check the band website for more details.

Rehearsal

Great Rehearsal last night. Be sure that you practice over the break so that you do not forget what you learned. It is looking good ladies!

Doughnuts should be available for pickup on Friday at 10:00 am at the ZEJH bandroom. Thanks to those of you that sold.

Reminder

Practice this week has been canceled. The Addition will practice on Tuesday night from 5-8 and the The Ellis Emeralds will practice Monday right after school in the THS lunchroom if you would like to come by and help.

Rehearsal

Check the band calendar OFTEN for updates. You will have rehearsal on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, from 5-8. I am not sure yet if it will be in the ZEJH gym or the THS lunchroom. I will let you know as soon as I know what is available.

Thanks again for your help this week with the Ellis Emeralds Clinic and on Saturday for the help/support for the girls as they auditioned. What a great group of girls! I look forward to a GREAT year!

Thanks ladies for all of the help today for the first day of Ellis Emerald Clinic. The girls that turned out for tryouts did quit well and having each of you there to help really added to the atmosphere and the quality of what was done. I really appreciate each of you.

Feel free to come any day this week that you may have free.

Just a reminder that we have our first 2009-2010 practice on Tuesday, July 20,2009 from 2:30-4:30pm. Remember to bring lots of water and a snack to eat before band practice at 5pm.
If you have a flag at home, you do not have to bring it.

DCI

Interested in seeing a drum corp performance up close and personal? You still have time.

Drum Corp season is quickly coming to an exciting end, but you still have a few options to catch a show either live or in a theater. Visit www.dci.org for ticket information. There is a show in Gadsden, AL, on this Friday, July 24, 2009 and a show in Atlanta this Saturday, July 25, 2009. Ticket information can be found on the dci website.

Rehearsal

The first rehearsal of the year will be on Tuesday, July 21, 2009, from 2:30-4:30pm, at THS. You will have a 30 minute break before the regular scheduled band practice from 5-8pm. I recommend that you bring snacks and lots of WATER so that you are energized for your long day.

Handbook

Just a reminder that as an auxiliary member your 'new auxiliary member year' is from tryout to tryout. Therefore, your auxiliary year started in April with tryouts. Demerits are applied for the entire year. Please be sure that you make yourself very familiar with what is expected. We want for every member to be successful. Rules and Regulations are set in place to help each person succeed as well as aid us in running things fairly and smoothly.

(As an Addition member of the Talladega High School Band, whose main auxiliary time is 2nd semester, it is important to remember that all demerits still apply to both semesters.)

Monday Practice!

We will have practice on Monday, May 4th in preparation for the Spring Concert. It will be after school until 5:00pm in the Gym at Talladega High School.

Uniform fitting!

Those of you that made the DEGA DARLINS 2009 line for the fall will have your first uniform fitting on May 4, 2009. Mrs. Bonnie will come during school around 12:30. Mr. McDaniel will call you to the bandroom from class. (this is not for Addition; your fitting will be at a later time.)
